Remembrance Day Ceremonies: Every year on November 11, Canadians remember the courage and sacrifice of those who served their country during times of war, military conflict and peace. Come out to Old City Hall at 10:30am and join others in remembrance.
The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival: Is now celebrating its fifth anniversary! The festival features 48 North American troupes, including returning veteran troupes The Sketchersons and The Understudies. Toronto’s Most Daring Art Event: Come and see the artwork being produced by some of Toronto’s newest and cutting edge artists. There will be live entertainment and a silent auction for some works of art with proceeds going to the Aids Committee of Toronto. The price is $30 and the event will be held at the Berkley Church on Queen East and Jarvis at 7:30pm.
Facing the Lens, Seeing the Light: Come and listen in to a discussion on photography with Nigel Dickson, photography historian Lilly Koltun and gallery owner Jane Corkin this Monday. This event will held at the ROM at 7pm and is free of charge.
Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival: Rendezvous with Madness is an annual film festival focusing on works about addiction and mental illness. This is the events 17th year running! Please see the website for the locations and times.
Far Out Side: Come and see psychadelia and escapism in the west end! Here you will see artwork from six local artists who have bent the imagination and put it on canvas. This event is at the Board of Directors on Queen and runs from Friday to Sunday from 11am to 6pm. The price is free.
A.F.I: See the stellar punk band AFI at the sound academy this Tuesday at 7pm. Tickets are $32 and will go fast. This is an all ages show. Visit the website for more information.
Art Strollers Museum Tours: Starting on November 10th and running until December 15th, moms are invited to bring their little ones for a guided tour of various Toronto art galleries and museum exhibitions. A new gallery will be selected each week. The price ranges from $25-$30. Visit the website for more details.
Winterlude: Winterlude will take place at the historic Roundhouse, home of Steam Whistle Brewing. This event will feature live music, special guest MC, magician, raffles, silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and more. Tickets vary from $20-$30. The doors open at 6:30pm.
Wine tasting and Jazz at St. Lawrence Market: On Saturday from noon to 3pm come and sample some great wine and stay for some cool jazz beats! Tickets range between $40 and $50. The address to the event is 93 Front Street East.
