The 2009 hockey playoffs are underway, and if you are a Leafs fan, you may be mumbling the familiar phrase “maybe next year”. The Toronto Maple Leafs once again join the fans on the sidelines during the playoff season, as they were unable to clinch a playoff spot for the 5th consecutive year. And if you still refer to yourself as a Leaf’s fan, you have certainly proven your loyalty. The team charges the highest priced tickets in the league, yet with all that money still can’t manage a winning team. With the Leafs out for another playoff season, this also then begs the question, what team do you root for to the Stanley Cup finals while your players are exchanging their hockey sticks for golf clubs? Yoga is a centuries old system of exercises practiced by the Hindu discipline to promote stability and control of the body and mind. It is optimally incorporated into a practitioner’s daily life and it is responsible for physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual well being. Our minds often become clouded with the stresses of everyday life, making it vital to take a few moments each day to relinquish the cumulative damage in an attempt to emotionally prosper. Yoga is a superlative means of self improvement since it works on both the body and mind simultaneously and it also exploits their interdependence.
